Anarchy in the UK
Hmmm, such nice young ladies.
Apparently what started out as a protest about a police shooting is now about an anarchy, that they can do what they want. But really this is all about stealing and vandalism.
You know what I’ve heard this before.
Of course this rioting is destroying local businesses and these teenagers and twentysomethings have just put more people on the government dole. Not to mention the people who are now homeless because of the fires. Now the government will have to support more people.
Nice going morons. That’s right you’re not anarchist or protesters you’re morons or thieves.
But then this is what happens when the people become to dependent on the government to take care of them.
The problem with socialism it depends on taxing the workers so the worker can have benefits. So if enough people don't work and not pay into the system the system will fail. So then if there are jobs and young people of that country choose not to work for what ever reason then the government will bring in foreign workers to work so that they can pay into the system to support the non-working with healthcare and financial aid which use to be mostly the retired, elderly, disabled, sick, homeless, unemployed but now having the foreign workers paying the taxes and if young people do not enter the work force to pay their fair share you have more people needing the system that can’t get enough worker tax money due to disproportionate amount of workers to non-workers and the government still paying for benefits it can’t afford. And just taxing the rich in socialism will not sustain any country for very long, unless it’ s very small population and of that you have a large population of wealthy and limit immigration into the country.
Socialism today is the people pay taxes to the government for benefits and services. If people don’t pay or pay enough then the government can’t provide.

In 1863, riots erupted in new York, mainly because working class citizens and immigrants opposed the draft. They did not want to go to war when wealthier men were buying their way out of conscription. Protests denigrated into a racial pogrom as blacks were blamed for being the source of the Civil War. Innocent black people were attacked, beaten, burned and lynched and even a black orphanage was burned. The riot denigrated even further into wholesale looting and burning. New York militia along with federal troops returning from the Gettysburg campaign quickly restored order at the point of the bayonet and artillery fire that took about about 300 of the "protesters."
I'm all for free-speech and peaceful protest, even if I think your cause is a load of horse puckey. But when you start turning over cars, looting stores, burning buildings or attacking police and innocent citizens, then you just threw your rights out the window. Forget water cannons, rubber bullets and pepper spray. Your "protest" deserves to get the 1863 New York treatment.
Then there was the Whiskey Rebellion in 1794. Which a bunch of farmers and small whiskey makers became upset over a tax by the federal government in which small whiskey makers had to pay more tax than large whiskey producers, ironically President George Washington was one.
Anyway long story short there was protesting and rioting was going on mainly in western Pennsylvania and President Washington sent a military force of 12,900+ to end the rebellion. On September 25th, the President issued a proclamation declaring that he would not allow "a small portion of the United States dictate to the whole union," and called on all persons "not to abet, aid, or comfort the Insurgents." And Washington instructed his commanding officer to combat any “who may be found in arms in opposition to the National will and authority” and “to aid and support the civil Magistrate in bringing offenders to justice.”
Now just to remind you that the estimated amount of the resistant range anywhere from 200men to maybe 500 and Washington’s force was 12,900+
Well Washington hoped by sending a large force it would be enough to end the rebellion and it worked. About 150 rebellion members were arrested many were released due to a lack of evidence. Only a few men were tried and just two were convicted of treason. A year later President Washington pardoned the only two convicted men and those still in custody or under indictment. Several rebels sought for arrest fled the area, but most were later pardoned as well.
Even though I feel that the tax was unfair and the response by Washington was excessive. I do have to remember that the country at that time could have easily failed and would had to go back under Great Britian or French rule.
Oh yeah, the Cartman video summarizes neatly what most protesters are about. I was in one a long, long time ago. It didn't turn violent or anything, but when I think back on it, I don't even know why I was there. Juvenile stupidity is the best answer I can come up with.

Ah yes the Shays Rebellion and also the Fries Rebellion 1799-1800. It’s ironic that the Founding Fathers ended up having to deal with tax rebellions.
When we lived Maryland in the late 60's my two older brothers use to go to protests in D.C but they went there to meet girls and find parties. They really could careless about the protests. They said they weren't the only ones. For my bothers and friend it was really just something to do.
